This introductory training is designed to help industry suppliers understand and tap into the growing digital procurement opportunities launched by the World Bank and other Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs). Drawing on real tender examples, the course explains how these opportunities are structured — from ICT consulting services (such as software development, cybersecurity analysis, TA on Information systems including health sector), services other than consulting services (such as implementation of ICT platforms, Development and Maintenance of MIS, Provision of Broadband capacity, and goods-based contracts such as hardware, software and licensing. Participants will gain a clear picture of the different procedure formats used by the World Bank , including the one and two stages RFP process for Information Systems, as well as the expertise typically required to compete for these tenders.

What you'll gain:

  • Understand the different types of ICT-related opportunities published by The World Bank  (consulting services, ICT hardware/software/licensing)
  • Recognise how World Bank’s tenders are structured, including single-stage and two-stage RFP procedures
  • Identify the profile and expertise donors and clients typically look for in ICT-related bids
  • Get an overview of current market trends, including the growing volume of ICT and infrastructure-related tenders in Africa

Ideal for: Suppliers and consultants in the ICT sector — covering both services and goods — who want to understand how to identify and approach digital procurement opportunities financed by the World Bank.

Duration: 60 mins

Note for participants: Participants are invited to submit questions prior to the session so that the trainer can tailor the discussion and address concrete bidding challenges, including specific issues encountered in past submissions.
